Montevetrano Agricultural Estate originated from of a group of friends who shared a passion for wine in 1983. In 1991, the first very few bottles of Montevetrano were released, only for friends, with Cabernet Sauvignon at 90% and Aglianico at 10%, which over time would reach 30%. It was the first small, shy vintage. The '92 and '93 vintages followed. Two and a half years passed from harvest to market. Bottles were given as gifts to passionate friends, and real sales began, with the '93 vintage released in '95. Robert Parker called it the Sassicaia of the south.

Montevetrano's success among wine enthusiasts worldwide shed light on Campania. Today its fruits are seen in the extraordinary diversity of its oenological richness, in its many different productions, in the capabilities of those who represent it. Over time, Montevetrano has undergone a rapidly changing history. The myth of great wine, then the emphasis on only indigenous wines, then only organic wines, then biodynamic wines. Completing the winery's range are two wines based on traditional Campanian grape varieties, Core Rosso, pure Aglianico, and Core Bianco, a blend of Greco and Fiano.
