Bottled just before I tasted it at the end of February, the 2017 Cotes de Provence Rose Chateau de Selle was already looking good. Cherry and pineapple flavors lead the way in this medium-bodied wine, which although silky in texture shows some grip on the finish. This should drink well through the end of 2019.
Producer
Domaine Ott
The original prestige rosé producer Domaines Ott, consists of three separately owned Provençal estates. Founded in 1912 by a youthful agronomist, Marcel Ott, he concentrated all of his efforts into raising the quality of his fruit by replanting all of the estates. The Ott domaines were then added one-by-one. Today, the three wineries belong to Louis Roederer Champagne and produce the most exceptional Côtes de Provence wines. Their unique estates are situated in the Bandol and Côtes de Provence appellations: Château Romassan, Clos Mireille and Château de Selle. The same viticultural approach is followed at each property, uniting the Domaines Ott by their authenticity of this thousand-year-old tradition, as well as their unique bottle. Their signature sleek and curvy bottles indicate the excellence that is found within each wine. Domaines Ott remains as Provence’s most celebrated name.
