Domaine Bernard Morey

The Moreys have long been established in Burgundy and over the years, their roots have taken hold in Chassagne. The family now owns six domaines in the area, as well as in Meursault with another branch of the family. Bernard Morey might be considered the godfather to all, as not only was he the patriarch for much of the family, but he also served as mayor of Chassagne-Montrachet for many years (and was even one of the vignerons who helped launch Le Chassange, a Michelin-starred restaurant in the heart of his very quiet village). His wines were known to be quite full-bodied with notable density and charm. Bernard retired with the 2006 vintage with his sons dividing the family's vineyard holdings. From this vintage on, the Bernard Morey name will only be used for négociant bottlings, while the domaine wines will be produced under his sons' names - Vincent and Thomas.
