Damijan Podversic

Found on the border with Slovenia, perched amongst the hills of Collio Goriziano in Friuli, winemaker Damijan Podversic produces personal, unique wines which may even be a bit provocative. The daring oenologist, Damijan ferments his wines on skins in wood fermenters using only natural yeast. This natural winemaking technique may not sound particularly controversial; however, he is producing whites not reds. The resulting whites are excellent, concentrated with lots of tannins, all the great characteristics you expect to find in a red wine. Definitely a producer to look out for in the future.
