Clos Saint Michel

Created at the beginning of the 20th century, this domaine was bought by the Moussets in 1957, an established Châteauneuf-du-Pape family with extensive vineyard holdings in the region. Today, it is run by Franck and Olivier Mousset, the fourth generation of the family, and they produce 3 different Châteauneuf reds and one white from their 14 hectares of vines in the region, as well as several bottlings of Côtes du Rhône and vin de pays de Vaucluse under the Domaine Guy Mousset label. Clos Saint Michel Tradition is made from 40% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 30% Syrah and is aged for 12 months in a combination of old foudres, seasoned oak barrels and cement vats. The Cuvée Reserve is from vines that are more than 50-years-old while the Grand Clos is produced exclusively with 100% old vine Mourvèdre (and not every vintage) and is aged with notable amounts of new oak barrels.
