Some 80% of the blend is matured in foudres rather than barriques. It's produced by Cheval Blanc's winemaking team. Producer Château QuinaultOne of the great Saint-Émilion estates, Château Quinault l’Eclos sits in the center of Libourne along the border with Pomerol. Home to 19 hectares of vineyards, the vines average around 60-70-years-old and are planted to 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Known as one of Bordeaux’s supercuvées or vins de garage, Quinault l’Enclos has been owned by Cheval Blanc’s Bernard Arnault of LVMH since 2008. Today, Pierre Lurton and his team from Cheval Blanc manage Château Quinault l’Enclos. The resulting wines are ripe, fresh and well-rounded, making them one of the appellation’s best wines to drink young.
