One of Margaux's Fourth Growths, Château Pouget is one of the lesser known châteaux in Bordeaux. Though it has had multiple owners from 1650 onwards, it did not get its name until 1748, from owner François-Antoine Pouget. In 1906, it was purchased by the forebears to the Guillemet Family (of Boyd Cantenac) and it is Lucien Guillemet who owns and manages the château today. Its 17 hectares of vines are planted with a predominance of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), followed by Merlot (30%) and a handful of Cabernet Franc (10%).
