Château Vieux Clos

Château Vieux Clos lies on the western plateau of Saint-Émilion. Here, the vineyard covers 8 hectares, consisting of the following grape varieties: 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Pressac, otherwise known as Malbec. The soils are sandy, from eolian deposits, resting on an alios sub-soil. Its vines are 40-50 years old, enabling the wine to attain notable concentration and depth of flavor. The wine is vinified in cement vats and stainless steel tanks which allows perfect control of the different phases of fermentation. Then it is matured in new oak barrels.
