Very attractive, plush and rich red and dark-fruit aromas with beautifully integrated oak and youthful, spicy complexity. The palate has lush, seamless and velvety tannins that are elegant yet powerful and deliver a silky build of ripe dark-berry flavors into a long, seamless finish. Greatest Siran ever! Try from 2023.
Producer
Château Siran
Found in the southernmost commune of Margaux, the historical Château Siran sits in Labarde. Owned by the same family for over 150 years, Siran has been the Miailhe family’s pride and joy since 1848. Today, fifth generation, Édouard Miailhe manages the estate. The 88-hectare property has 36 hectares of vines, 25 of which are in the Margaux appellation. The remarkable terroir consists of a plateau with siliceous gravel soil. Planted essentially with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this vineyard nevertheless has an unusually large percentage of Petit Verdot (11 %) – variety that contributes finesse, concentration and, above all, a spicy aftertaste typical of Château Siran. The estate produces from 130 to 150,000 bottles of their Grand Vin and second wine, S de Siran, every year.
