Château Patris
Château Patris is located on the south facing hills of Saint-Émilion, not far from Château Angélus. The estate’s unique location benefits from a natural barrier against cold winds, while the sunshine promotes a perfect ripening of the grapes. The property includes nearly 9 hectares planted mainly to Merlot (80%) Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Cabernet Franc (10 %), which is one of the higher amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon in the region (and the same as Château Pavie). The soils consist of sandy limestone, often known for producing more upfront, fruit-forward wines. Once the wine is fermented, it is aged in 60% new French oak with no fining and only occasional filtration at bottling. The property is owned by Michel Querre, a successful négociant, who owns other domaines in the Libourne area.
