Château Moulin du Cadet is one of the lesser-known Grands Crus Classés in Saint-Émilion. The estate is managed by Alain Moueix, who is also the director of Château Fonronque, his family's neighboring estate. Since 1996, he has been farming the 5-hectare vineyard biodynamically and in 2005, the château became certified by Biodyvin. The vineyards are planted to 100% Merlot on limestone and clay soils and the wines are fermented in traditional cement, temperature-controlled vats in a cellar that was renovated in 1991. The wines are then aged in 50% new French oak barrels for 12-18 months.
