There's terrific zing and precision here, with tangerine and white peach notes allied to a steely spine and leading to a long fleur de sel finish. Should unwind slowly and will likely do well in the cellar.—J.M.

The 2015 Blanc de Lynch-Bages has a little bit of sulfides on the nose with struck match scents over a core of lemon curd, ripe pears and peach kernels with touches of dried herbs and baking bread. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing with phenolic grip and a long, mineral finish.

Château Lynch Bages
Overlooking the Gironde estuary, Château Lynch-Bages is located on the outskirts of Pauillac, on the Plateau de Bages, one of the most beautiful gravelly rises in the appellation. The estate formerly belonged to the Lynch family, originally from Ireland, and was purchased by Jean-Charles Cazes in 1934. Starting in the 80’s, Jean-Michel Cazes undertook an in-depth modernization of Lynch-Bages, while preserving the former 19th century vat room. This a area is a rare example of traditional winemaking equipment that was used in Médoc many years ago. In 2006, Jean-Michel handed over management to his son Jean-Charles, and took on the project of breathing new life into the adjacent Village de Bages. The wines of Lynch-Bages reflect the family tradition of generosity and excellence. Lynch-Bages combines structure, finesse and elegance, offering generous aromas in its youth and developing deeper complexities with bottle age. The second wine, Echo de Lynch-Bages is round, soft and seductive in its youth, with outstanding potential for bottle age. The estate also produces a fine Bordeaux white, Blanc de Lynch-Bages, which is a lively and crisp wine with fresh fruits and white flower aromas that dance with delicate woody and vanilla notes.
