Château Lafleur Gazin Lafleur Gazin 2019 75clAOC | Pomerol | Bordeaux | FranceSold outSize 75 clAll vintages 1950 1954 2019 Critics scores 90 Robert ParkerAromas of rich berry fruit, cassis, vanilla pod and pencil shavings introduce the 2019 Lafleur-Gazin, a medium to full-bodied, ample wine with a ripe core of fruit and youthfully chewy structuring tannins. This is a hearty, rather rustic Pomerol that will work well at table.89 Wine SpectatorShows singed cedar, balsam wood and savory notes that lead the way, followed by slightly dried red currant, damson plum and dark cherry fruit flavors. Features a savory edge that prances through the finish, as the balsam wood edge leaves a slightly taut feel. Best from 2023 through 2034. 1,800 cases made, 200 cases imported. — JM Producer Château Lafleur GazinAs its name suggests, Château Lafleur-Gazin lies close to both Lafleur and Gazin and down the road from Pétrus. Though owned by the Borderie family since 1976, its wines have been managed by Ets Jean-Pierre Moueix, an arrangement that multiple Right Bank châteaux have, including Certan de May. Its 8.5 hectares are planted to Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%) with a density of 6000 vines per hectare and on a soil of gravel, clay and iron oxide. Like most producers in Bordeaux, they use temperature-regulated vats - of which some are concrete and others stainless steel. Its only one wine is then aged in French oak barrels - 1/3-2/3 new, depending on the vintage.
