Attractive ripe dark berries and some darker chocolate, no to mention sweet earth and violets. The palate has impressive density and depth, not to mention great length and weight. Mulberry and dark-cherry flavors hold fresh. Best from 2022.

Château La Dominique
Located in the western part of Saint-Émilion, bordering the Pomerol appellation, Château La Dominique takes its name from the Caribbean island where the first owner made his fortune. The vineyard is surrounded by other illustrious estates such as Château Cheval Blanc and Château-Figeac to the west, and Château La Conseillante and Château L'Évangile to the north. Clément Fayat came away utterly enchanted from a visit to La Dominique and eventually acquired the château in 1969. Consisting of deep gravel and sand, the superb terroir is planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines. The combination of these grape varieties, accompanied by meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar, accounts for a wine whose balance and fruity exuberance impress even the most demanding of connoisseurs. An inveterate entrepreneur, Clément Fayat decided to initiate a particularly ambitious renovation program in 2010 (in conjunction with architect Jean Nouvel) to go along with the improvements being made to his wine. Today, the contemporary red winery is equipped with a large fermenting room, a welcoming reception area as well as a brilliant restaurant.
