The Château Doisy-Daëne 2014 is bestowed with 144 grams per liter residual sugar and a pH of 3.7. It is much more introspective compared to the Coutet at the moment, perhaps because of less residual, but it is fragrant and ethereal with wild honey, yellow flower and orange blossom scents developing with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with superb tension and fruit intensity on the entry. It is more linear than recent vintages, minerally with a lovely twist of sour lemon imparting tension and vivacity on the crystalline finish. This is a fabulous Doisy-Daëne from Denis Dubourdieu. <br/>The Château Doisy-Daëne 2014 is bestowed with 144 grams per liter residual sugar and a pH of 3.7. Creamed pineapple, yellow apple and ginger notes form the core here, which has ample weight but moves gracefully, as orange zest and elderflower honey details stream underneath. A bitter citrus oil accent hangs on the finish for a long time. Has a lot of power for a Barsac. Best from 2020 through 2040. 2,083 cases made.

Mitteldunkles Gelb, somit recht intensiv, leuchtender Rand.

Château Doisy-Daëne, included amongst the Second Growths in the 1855 Classification, is located on the Barsac limestone plateau in the Sauternes appellation. It has belonged to the Dubourdieu family since 1924. Four generations have made fine white wines here from father to son: Georges (1924-1948), Pierre (1949-1999) and Denis Dubourdieu since the 2000 vintage – assisted by his sons, Fabrice and Jean-Jacques. The family is committed to defending and promoting Doisy-Daëne's image around the world. Denis Dubourdieu is also a professor of oenology at Bordeaux University and an internationally renowned consultant. Château Doisy-Daëne's 17.2 hectares of vines (87% Sémillon and 13% Sauvignon Blanc) are over 40 years old. The wines have their own special style, with bright fruit concentrated by "noble rot" as well as lively acidity, excellent balance, and delicate flavors. Doisy-Daëne's much-appreciated personality reflects both its excellent limestone terroir and a long family tradition of quality.
