Château de Castex d'Argmagnac
Château de Castex d'Argmagnac is located in the village of Monguilhem, right at the center of Bas Armagnac. Originally an old fortress, the structure was used to defend the region against enemies in the Middle Ages. The estate has been passed down through a number of owners until 1789, when it was purchased by nobleman, Count d'Abbadie de Barrau, several months before the French Revolution. Fortunately, the family was able to keep the château and it is still owned by the same family. The Armagnacs of Château de Castex are always vintaged, never commercialized before 15 years old and bottled upon receipt of order.
