Sharing a border with Tuscany, the Lungarotti Winery is situated in the tiny, yet beautiful region of Umbria. Founded in the early 1960s by Giorgio Lungarotti, this Italian estate quickly brought fame to the area with their high-quality wines and their innovations in wine tourism. All of Giorigio Lungarotti’s earthy Sangiovese blends undergo a long aging process in bottle, making for a unique top-class selection. The Lungarotti Group owns 250 hectares of vineyards in Torgiano and Montefalco, each with their own estate. The terroir of their Torgiano Estate produces Umbria’s first DOCG wine, the warm and velvety Rubesco Riserva Vigna Monticchio, as well as, a fresh DOC white called Torre di Giano. The Montefalco Estate on the other hand, produces three outstanding reds and has its own DOC which was created in 1970. The vineyards are dedicated to the production of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo red varieties, as well as, white Chardonnay, Grechetto and Trebbiano. The Lungarotti family’s Museo del Vino and Museo dell’Olivo e dell’Olio is a must see on the estate.
