Undoubtedly one of the Sardinia’s icons, the Santadi Winery was established in 1960. The cantina was created by a group of grape growers who joined together to set up a cooperative winemaking and marketing business. Coordinated by ETFAS, the Land Reform Board of Sardinia, the group built Santadi in the heart of the Sulcis peninsula. Originally focusing on bulk wine, the cantina has transformed for the better, with the arrival of a new group Board of Directors in the mid-1970s. Since then, the estate has prospered under the leadership of Chairman, Antonello Pilloni, and the late Giacomo Tachis, the world-renowned oenologist, who offered his vinous brainpower. Together, the grape growers, directors, marketing staff and winery workers continue to break through the main markets with their outstanding quality wines and powerful identity.
