Cantina Monti

It all began in 1976, when Sergio Monti cleared four hectares of abandoned vineyards in Ronchi di Cadermario. He worked the steep slopes year after year until the land was fertile again. Today, this estate is one of our favorites, but it is also one of Ticino’s best producers. Winning the “Best Merlot in the World” out of 300 other competitors at the Mondial du Merlot in 2012, Cantina Monti continues to craft delicious and fragrant wines. Along the mountainous slopes, the estate has several plots scattered throughout Ticino, planted to seven varieties of red grapes – Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Diolinoir, Carminoir, Ancellotta and Americana; and three varietals of white grapes – Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. The winery stands for environmentally friendly methods and practices, which combined with their attentive family centered ideals, Cantina Monti releases some of the most exclusive and high-quality wines in Switzerland.
