Situated just south of Lugano, in the city of Barbengo, Cantina Kopp von der Crone Visini was created in 2006. Born out of the partnership of couple, Ueli Kopp and Anna Barabara von der Crone, of Kopp von der Crone company, and Paolo Visini of ViniVisini, the Barbengo wine-producing estate now owns over seven hectares of vineyards. Divided amongst three distinct plots in Ticino, the vineyards lay amongst the unique terroirs of Mendrisiotto, Lugano and Bellinzona. Planted to a majority of Merlot, the property also cultivates smaller amounts of Arinarnoa, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Extraordinarily, this Ticinese property farms a bit of white grapes as well, such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Kerner and Viognier. Widely promoting biodiversity, this quality-conscious cantina follows each step from - vine to bottle - with the upmost care. The wines are exceptional examples of the region, with transparency across sites and varieties, each label is notably phenomenal in its own way.
