A rising star in Champagne, the young and talented grower-producer, Cédric Bouchard established his own Champagne house, Roses de Jeanne at the turn of the century. Possibly the smallest producer in the entire appellation, with just about three hectares of vineyards, he has emerged as one of the most promising houses in all of Champagne. Based along the edge of a medieval city called Troyes, the Aube estate practices biodynamic farming, ensuring the purest fruit. The brilliant owner-winemaker, Bouchard uses innovative vinification techniques, utilizing indigenous yeasts, as well as a little to no dosage approach when bottling. As a result, his wines show a striking transparency across sites, vintages and varietal blends. He groups his wines into two separate ranges – the wines produced from his own vineyards, called “Roses de Jeanne”, and the wines coming from his father’s vines are labeled with, “Inflorescence”. A true revelation, Bouchard’s wines have become some of the most unique and personal Champagnes, they are of true excellence.
