Amongst the breathtaking vineyards situated at the base of the Sierra de Cantabria mountains, Bodegas Baigorri offers the most beautiful views of Samaniego. The modern seven-floor structure, standouts like a reflective diamond across the vibrant earthy colors of the Rioja Alavesa hills. This transparent, glass-made winery, designed by Basque architect, Iñaki Aspiazu, is much more than its aesthetically pleasing façade, it technically serves for the bodegas’ wine-making purposes. The seven-levels allow gravity to naturally move the grapes through the vinification processes – avoiding the use of any mechanical methods. This non-interventional approach, along with the incomparable terroirs of Rioja Alavesa produce traditional, new-styled Riojas that are the best in their class. Starting in 2000, this relatively new 55-hecate estate now belongs to Pedro Martínez Hernández. The winery produces several impressive reds, as well as a couple whites. Baigorri de Garage is made from the best grapes cultivated on their oldest and lowest-yielding vines. The results are self-evident, producing a deep red fruited Tempranillo, balanced with rich tannins and well-integrated French oak.
