Barbaresco Albesani Riserva Viti Vecchie 2019 300cl

The Piero Busso 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Albesani Viti Vecchie is expansive and layered, offering aromas of orange peel, apricot, truffle, asphalt and licorice framed by chalky, authoritative tannins. A long maceration of up to 70 days under submerged cap gives the wine breadth and structure, resulting in an ample and enveloping profile. Drawn from a tiny 2,300-square-meter parcel with vines planted in 1948, this is a tiny production of 925 bottles. This Riserva represents one of the estate’s most profound and rare expressions. This wine was produced in 2020 but not in 2021 (because of rain during flowering), 2022 or 2023. In 2024, a general Viti Vecchie blend was made instead of single-vineyard expressions.
