Oseleta

An indigenous variety that is grown in Italy’s Veronese countryside, its bunches are notably small so work well with “appassimento”, a technique used to dry grapes and which is employed in producing Amarone and some Valpolicellas. The name originates from “oselét”, a word in the Veneto dialect, which means “little bird”, because when its grapes are ripe, the small local birds often try to eat them.
