Dolcetto

Translated to “little sweet one”, Dolcetto produces wines that focus on its fruit and which have low-moderate acidity and soft tannins. Often quite deep in colour, its style can be reminiscent of Beaujolais produced from traditional vinification. Very early ripening (approximately 4 weeks more than its neighbour Nebbiolo), this enables it to use less well situated slopes, such as north-facing ones, allowing the harder to ripen Nebbiolo to take advantage of the sun.
