Domaine Faiveley is located in France, at the heart of viticultural Burgundy, between Dijon and Beaune in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Founded in 1825, they have been historically based in the Côte de Nuits capital, Nuits St. Georges. Over the years, the Faiveley family has progressively extended its domaine and today owns vineyards in some of the finest communes in Burgundy - Gevrey-Chambertin, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet, Mercurey and others. Unlike many Burgundian producer/négociants today, they are also one of the few that have remained family owned.
In addition to purchased grapes, they also grow a notable amount of their own from their 10 hectares of grand crus and nearly 25 hectares of premier crus, including several climats that are exclusively owned by the family – these are the monopoles - Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos des Issarts, Beaune 1er Cru Clos de l'Ecu,… and the Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru.
Erwan Faiveley, the 7th generation, took the helm in 2007 and since his arrival, he has spent an incredible amount of energy and money renovating the vineyards, the cellars and increasing the overall quality of the wines.
