Veneto

One of the more important wine regions in Italy, the northern Veneto creates some of Italy’s most popular wines such as Amarone, Soave, Prosecco and most of the country’s Pinot Grigio. As a result of the popularity of Pinot Grigio and Prosecco, it has become the most important Italian wine region in terms of volume, overtaking the southern regions of Puglia and Sicily. It begins at the eastern border of Lake Garda and carries forward until the outskirts of Venice, after which it is named.
