Puglia

This lengthy and slim wine region of Puglia is found on the south eastern edge of the country, running up Italy’s boot heel. The long region encompasses both northern and southern Puglia, therefore the geographical, as well as the cultural differences produce a wide range of wines. The region is split into three unique viticultural areas which can be identified by the nearest cities, with Foggia situated in the north, Bari and Taranto in the middle and Brindisi and Lecce to the south. Home to a hot Mediterranean climate, blessed by intermittent sea breezes, Puglia has the ideal environment for grape growing. The vineyards are planted to the typical Negroamaro and Primitivo, but also other red varieties like, Sangiovese, Montepulciano and many others.
