Bordeaux EP 2015

"En Primeur" is a French term for wine sold on a "futures" basis before being bottled. Every spring following the vintage, Bordeaux Cru Classé properties show cask samples of their wines and then release a certain "tranche" or set amount of their total production at a special opening price.   Why Buy En Primeur?   The Best Price En Primeur usually offers the best price for a wine, which is nearly always less than its eventual release price . En Primeur works to everyone's advantage, particularly for exceptional vintages (1982, 1990, 1996, 2000, 2003, 2005) when prices can increase substantially. This is very important also when considering reselling the wines at a later date.   Bottle Formats When buying En Primeur, the customer can decide in which format he wants his wine to be bottled. Besides the normal bottle or half bottle he can choose between large formats such as, a magnum, double-magnum or imperial. Some châteaux even propose the melchior, a hefty 18 litre-bottle. ...
