Valais

Responsible for almost half of the country’s total wine production, Valais is home to over 5000 hectares of vineyards which are planted in both the French and German parts. The most widely planted grape variety here is Pinot Noir, however the area also grows other red types, like Gamay, and Gamay hybrids Garanoir and Gamaret, as well as Diolinoir and Cornalin. The country’s favorite white grape, the Chasselas is also cultivated here. ...
