Amongst the few Champagne houses to still be run by a member of its founding family, Philipponnat’s history dates back over 500 years ago. Generations of both, men and women Philipponnats, have left their mark on France’s famous region. With 17-hectares of vines in Aÿ, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Avenay, the plots each fall under the Premier or Grand Cru classifications. Today, under the leadership of Chairman Charles Philipponnat, the estate has seen a recent resurgence, and has gained an incredible surge in recognition for its entire portfolio. Striving to reveal the wines’ true Pinot-infused glory, Charles has worked relentlessly to instill the family’s founding values of individuality, excellence, generosity and humility in every bottle produced. He has created a successful range of intense, fresh Champagnes that are imitable for their quality and character. As the first Champagne House to include the main year used in its non-vintage blends, the dosage and the dates of disgorgement on their back labels – Philipponnat is unquestionably unique.
