OFFER OF THE MONTH – Family and Friends
The superstar of this offer will be Feudo Maccari.
The offer is valid for purchases from 36 bottles.
It all began when Antonio Moretti, owner of Orma and Tenuta Sette Ponti (Oreno), was fascinated by the Val di Noto while visiting in the late 90’s and decided it would be the perfect place for his next oenological challenge. He then began to vinify some regional grape varieties such as Nero d’Avola and Grillo, as well as others like Syrah and Moscato Bianco. Today, however, we would love to focus on two relatively recent wines which have achieved a huge success among our clients in the last few years: Family and Friends, both white and red!
Family and Friends wasn't even supposed to be released on the market and was just meant to be enjoyed by the producer together with his family and friends, as the name already suggests. ARVI knows Antonio Moretti very well and some years ago, he told us about this great white wine he produced, which was originally meant for his beloved ones only. After having tasted it and being amazed by its surprising quality, we agreed to serve it blind during Art Basel a couple of years ago to all our top clients: it was astonishing to hear our clients guessing about the provenience. Most of them thought they were drinking a Premier Cru from Burgundy thanks to ist freshness, depth and pleasant mineral components. Even funnier was to see the reaction as soon as we revealed they were drinking a white wine from Sicily made of 100% autochthonous grape variety Grillo. I can also reveal that nobody guessed it right, but that everybody liked the wine very much. So much that we had to convince Dr. Moretti to grant us a small allocation of his family cuvée since we had so many clients who wanted to buy the wine by cases!
Feudo Maccari also decided to introduce a red Family and Friends, that hit the first time ever on the market with its 2017 vintage! The first time we tasted the wine, we were literally blown away by its quality. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, with the unique characteristics of the soil and terroir in Sicily, fresh yet with a very good structure that will make it even better in some years’ time!
