Château Lestage

Château Lestage has been the family home for the Chanfreaus for over 50 years. The vineyard consists of 42 hectares in the town of Listrac-Médoc and 9 hectares in the commune of Moulis-en-Médoc. Their vineyards occupy one of the highest points in the Médoc, Puy de Menjon lies at 43 meters above sea level. At the heart of the vineyard, amongst expansive green space, stands the château itself, a magnificent building constructed during the reign of Napoleon III, which was built in 1870 by architect, Minvielle. The wine was originally classified as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in 1932 and then reconfirmed once again in 2003. It is produced with a majority of Merlot (56%) followed by Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Petit Verdot (4%).
