A beautifully bright and expressive Champagne, with precision and vivid acidity throughout; roasted coffee bean and graphite notes lead to a rich palate of toasted brioche, crystallized honey, bergamot and crème de cassis. Exotic ground spice details of cardamom, ginger and anise show on the finish. Tasted from magnum. Drink now through 2030. 15 cases imported. –AN

Piper-Heidsieck

Piper-Heidsieck

It all began when Florens-Louis Heidsieck of Riems fell in love with a girl from Champagne. In 1785, the former draper, founded the Cloth and Wine Trading Company Heidsieck & Co. His wines quickly gained wide appraise, even becoming one of the Royal Court’s favorites. Following his passing in 1828, Florens-Louis’ nephew, Christian Heidsieck, and a brilliant businessman, Henri-Guillaume Piper joined forces. After Christian’s sudden death in 1835, his wife remarried Henri-Guillaume, and thus the Piper-Heidsieck brand was born. Known as the world’s most favorite Champagne, the brand has remained under the Descours’ ownership since 2011. Today, Jean-Louis Descours, along with the new president of the house, Damien Lafaurie, work towards the brand’s new image – focusing heavily on the quality of the wine. Piper-Heidsieck still remains one of the greatest value-for-money authentic Champagnes on the market. Their quality wines are crisp and elegant, with a depth and complexity that contradicts the price. ...
Montagne de Reims

Montagne de Reims

Montagne de Reims is one of the main sub-regions in Champagne. The region is situated in the northern most part of Champagne, along a ridge that begins from the south of Reims city and follows its way back to Epernay. While the region is home to diverse soils and cultivates all three main Champagne grape varieties, Pinot Noir is the king. Many Grand Cru villages in the Montagne de Reims offer ripe, high-quality Pinot Noir to the leading Champagne houses. The resulting Pinot Noirs are characterized by their crisp, fragrant nature that give Champagnes their backbone.
