Dear Wine Lover,
Mariano Garcia is the man you need to trust when it comes to Spanish wines. Hes recognized as Spains leading winemaker that brought to life the legendary UNICO from Vega Sicilia and who developed 4 more world-class wineries: ALION and AALTO in Ribera del Duero, PINTIA in Toro and MAURO from Castilla y Leon, all wines which are today recognized as the best Spain has to offer!
Since 1997 Mariano and his sons direct Bodegas Maurodos where their perfect daily drinking wine Prima 2014 is produced. According to Parker Bodegas y Vinedos Maurodos is one of the leading lights of Toro. These exceptional wines were suffused with personality, purity, a life-affirming sense of controlled opulence that, to be frank, put many a more expensive Toro wine in its shade. And Prima 2014 is the perfect example for this, for CHF 12.00 + Vat it delivers unbeatable value for money!
This amazing wine for every day is absolutely a steal, as you have everything a wine of this class needs:
75.0 cl Prima - Toro - Bodegas Maurodos 2014 CHF 12.00 (CHF 12.95 Vat Incl.)
For 36 bottles or more CHF 11.00 (CHF 11.90 Vat Incl.)
For 120 bottles or more CHF 10.00 (CHF 10.80 Vat Incl.)
Robert Parker "90" Points: The entry-level 2014 Prima is a blend of Tinta de Toro, 10% Garnacha and a little bit of white Malvasía. It matured in used barrique and oak vats to keep the fruit. 2014 is a cooler vintage, from a very balanced year and the wines show more freshness. This Prima keeps the primary fruit and feels young, but it has good depth and a very pleasant mouthfeel.
