Dear Wine Lover,
The warm weather days and lots of sun have taken over and this is the right moment for a fantastic white wine.
I am excited to propose you a white wine from a Domaine in Languedoc owned by one of the most prestigious producers in France, Mouton Rothschild: Domaine de Baronarques Blanc! Domaine de Baronarques has started as kind of experiment of Baronesse Philippine de Rothschild at the end of the 90s. In 1998 Mr. Chéreau, a Marseilles lawyer and heir of the estate, sold it to Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and her two sons. The three entrusted the management of the Domaine to the family company, Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. The estate was very run down, calling for extensive renovation of the vineyard and the winemaking facilities, a process that took five years. In 2003, Domaine de Baronarques benefited from a fortunate conjunction of circumstances: the wine proved to be of very high quality and the Domaine was awarded the AOC Limoux rouge appellation. Domaine de Baronarques could take its rightful place alongside the family's other estates, including the illustrious Château Mouton Rothschild.
The fantastic vintage 2009 was the first one for the Baronarques Blanc, a 100% Chardonnay, which reminds traditional whites from Burgundy. Since then, each vintage has been highly appreciated and offered great drinking pleasure. 2015, as for most of the French wine regions, has been pretty exceptional. April was wet but May was dry, with average temperatures 1 °C higher than normal. The Chardonnay parcels were harvested in early September, ten days earlier than in an average year.
Robert Parkers Wine Advocate rewarded this beautiful Chardonnay with 93 points out of 100 describing it as one of the finest whites coming from the Languedoc.

Made from 100% Chardonnay that was raised all in barrels, it offers terrific notes of crisp peach, pineapple, citrus blossom and a hint of brioche in a medium-bodied, vibrantly pure, balanced package. Drink it over the coming 2-4 years.
