Dear Wine Lover,
This is the perfect daily drinking wine! Awarded with 95 points by Suckling and selling for CHF 24.00 + Vat Crognolo 2016 is a real steal! The only professional rating available so far is from James Suckling who rated with amazing 95 Points, the highest score ever, after the 2013 vintage. Suckling describes this Crognolo as a wine with a long and flavourful finish and states that it is hard not to drink now. Seems like a real no brainer to me at this conditions!
The 2016 vintage in Tuscany has been one of the greatest of the last years, producing incredible wines with high quality across all ranges! The Crognolo from Tenuta Sette Ponti (producer of Oreno) is their wine for every day, and with only 6000-8000 cases produces for every vintage a classical gem that is not on every radar! Sourced from vines planted between 1988 and 1993, the blend of mainly Sangiovese with a bit of Merlot reflects perfectly the Tuscan wine soul, and for every Tuscan wine lover a must have!
Being predominantly a Sangiovese blend this is a very elegant and age worthy wine which can however already be enjoyed young. Would you like some?

James Suckling 95 Points: Aromas of rosewood, cherries and blueberries follow through to a full body, tight and focused tannins and a long and flavourful finish. This is linear and bright. The tannins are wonderfully polished and poised. Hard not to drink now, but it will improve beautifully in the bottle. A blend of mostly sangiovese with a touch of merlot. Drink or hold.
